What to do when your student is injured in a contest or a practice

It is vital for parents to have their student see one of our Certified Athletic Trainers the day the student is injured or the very next day.
  • When: The athletic training room opens at 2:30pm every day for evaluations and injury maintenance. Junior High students can find an athletic trainer in the training room by the weight room beneath the junior high gym (1425) and high school students can find athletic trainers in the athletic training room near the pool (1824). There they will be evaluated and an appropriate course of treatment will be decided upon for each student. After 4pm, if you cannot locate an athletic trainer in a training room, have your coach call their cell to find out their current location.
  • Where: One ATR is Room 1824 near the swimming pool under the HS Gym and the other is in Room 1425/26 near the Fitness Center under the JH gym.
  • Why: To be evaluated; to receive a referral to imaging, testing and/or physician-provided care, if appropriate, and with parent consent; to receive Certified Athletic Trainer-provided treatment and/or rehabilitation on site; and to begin the insurance paperwork process discussed below.
  • Note: If your child sees a physician outside of the TriHealth network, it is mandatory you provide the Certified Athletic Trainers with a note stating your child's ability to play and any restrictions determined by the physician. If there is no note, they will be held out of practice and competition until one is provided.
