Common Application Boot Camp

Attention Seniors (No Cost)
Deadline registration: August 1st, 2018

The Common Application is the on-line document accepted by over 700 member colleges and universities. Come and create a login and password and begin filling out the application with help from the Counseling Team. Students must bring their Novell (Walnut network) and Naviance passwords.

Enrichment Classes

GET YOUR GAME ON!
This is an introduction to Video Game Design. It’s goal is to teach students the basics of video game development, with topics ranging from initial brainstorming, character development, and world development, as well as art, music, coding and how to market and publish a game. The emphasis will focus on elements of game design, creating a basic product, and how to improve their work from there.

CAPSTONE PROJECT: a game designed in a group of 1, 2 or 3 people. Game should be playable and contain characters, sound, light and movement.

Prerequisites: While prior knowledge of coding may be helpful, it is not necessary. If students have no prior coding experience, they should be willing to learn quickly. Students should come ready to work with others and to share their ideas.
Class Limit: 20 Students

STEAMpunk Camp Offerings!

Circuit Intro
Students are introduced to Innovation Literacy, an intersection of art and science. Learn about circuits and how to incorporate them into sculpture, greeting cards and sewing project. Students will take home at least one interactive circuit project of their own design.

Makers and Robots
Students will make cardboard structures reimagined, super hero figures and animatronic robots and more. They will also be introduced to Little Bits, the Makey Makey and more. Students will take home a mashup character creation and an animatronic sculpture of their own design.
