Economics is designed to explain how the economy as a whole functions and how it is measured, along with various processes needed to make good economic decisions. In addition, students study the relationships of supply and demand, how firms organize and compete through pricing of goods and services, money and banking, business cycles, the role of government, how international trade affects the economy and how different economic systems can be compared with the market economy.
