2008 WHHS Science Day

The results are in from Science Day 2008 at WHHS.  Two projects tied for first in the physical science category. They were Katie Sprengard & Lucy Itzkoff with a project titled “How Heat Affects the Violin” and Katie Meyer & Mia Manavalan with a their project called “Are You “Dying” to Know How Much Hair Dye Fades?.”  The winner in the life science category was Willie Engle with a project “Who is Smarter, Mice or Hamsters?”

Lady Eagles to Face Mt Notre Dame in District Finals

Your #8 Lady Eagles will face #2 seed Mt. Notre Dame this Saturday, February 23rd at 3pm at Harrison High School. Pre-sale tickets are on sale in the athletic office for $5.00. Come out and show your support for the Lady Eagles!

Boys Basketball Falls To Moeller-Walnut Fans Praised

The Boys Varsity Basketball team was defeated by number one seed Moeller 72-34 in the second round of the sectional tournament Monday night.

Walnut Hills Quiz Kid Plays for National Jeopardy Title

Rachel Horn, a Walnut Hills High School sophomore, plays for the national title in episodes that air Friday at 7PM and 7:30 PM against two Midwest opponents: Rachel Cook, 17, from Fishers, Ind., and Zia Choudhury, 17, from Paducah, Ky.

In a Cliff Clavin-like moment, she took the lead in the “double Jeopardy” second round, thanks in part to a category called “Let’s Go To Ohio” in which Cincinnati was a correct answer.

Walnut Hills Quiz Kid Advances in Teen Jeopardy - Racks Up $33,199

Practicing with a homemade buzzer helped Walnut Hills High School sophomore Rachel Horn zap her “Jeopardy!” competition Tuesday night.

"Being on the quiz team was the extent of my practice. I didn't cram for the show," she says.

Rachel will appear again next Wednesday.

Basketball Teams Advance In State Tournaments

The Boys Varsity Basketball team will contend in their second sectional game this coming Monday (President's Day) Feb 18 at 7:45 p.m. vs. Moeller at Xavier's Cintas Center.

Advanced tickets can be obtained today in the athletic office next to the gym for only $5.00.

The Girls Varsity Basketball team who won their sectional final last evening will play again at the District Level on Saturday, February 23 at 3:00 p.m. at Harrison High School vs. the winner of the Kings/Mt. Notre Dame game. Ticket details will be available next week.
