SINO-AMERICAN PHARMACEUTICAL SCHOLARSHIP

The SAPA Scholarship & Excellence in Education Scholars will award a one-time $1,000 tuition payment based on merit to an outstanding student who will pursue careers in life sciences.  Criteria:  Must have a GPA above 3.3, minimum SAT score of 2000 and be in the top ten of the class.  For more information, visit http://www.sapaweb.org.

 CINCINNATI SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION

The Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation has help thousands of students to achieve their dream of a college education.  The criteria for a scholarship will be determined by the donors from community organizations, businesses, and individuals.  Most scholarships are “need-based”, and will help to cover the cost of education after all other federal, state, and campus-based aid have been awarded.  G.O.

 THE OMEGA PSI PHI FRATERNITY, INC.

The Ernest E. Just Scholarship will award monies to deserving and aspiring African-American male students.  Recipients must exemplify excellence in Maturity, Citizenship, Scholastic Ability and Leadership.  Must have at least a 2.5 or higher GPA.  Deadline:  April 30, 2010  G.O.

 **CINCINNATI CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL MEDICAL CENTER

The William K. Schubert, MD Minority Nursing Scholarship is to increase diversity of registered nurses at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.  The program grants awards of $2,750 per year.  Students must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75.  Deadline:  April 30, 2010.  G.O.

 **NORTHROP GRUMMAN ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP

The Northrop Grumman Corporation will award two $10,000 scholarships to any student interested in pursuing an engineering career.  Must have a minimum GPA of 3.5.  Deadline:  April 30, 2010

 **THE BRUCE YEAGER SCHOLARSHIP

Two recipients of this scholarship will receive $500 each; one student attending The University of Toledo and one student attending Bowling Green State University.  The students must display friendship, knowledge, service, morality, and excellence.  G.O.  Deadline:  August 31, 2010

 THE GRANT C. ALEXANDER SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION

This foundation will award two “last dollars” funds to academically worthy and financially eligible students attending a non-proprietary college full-time who have overcame a hardship and has written an essay either explaining their career/life goals, or their hardship. JOYCE IVY FOUNDATION

Female students have an opportunity to receive a scholarship to attend a summer academic program at an Ivy League or equivalent college.  Summer scholars will enable them to spend between two and eight weeks studying under faculty at leading institutions including Harvard, Brown, Yale, Columbia, Penn, Johns Hopkins, and Smith.

THE CINCINNATI BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU FOUNDATION

A renewable scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded five students.  Candidates will be judged solely on how their essay displays their firm understanding and commitment to ethics.  You must describe a situation you faced that greatly challenged your ethics and integrity, your sense of ‘right and wrong’, those personal beliefs that shape the person you are and will be in your future educational activities, communal life, and career.
