US News ranks Walnut Hills 65th and Newsweek ranks Walnut Hills 66th among U.S. high schools

Out of more than 18,000 public high schools in the USA, US News ranks Walnut number 65 in the USA and awards WHHS Gold Medal status.

Click here to view the entire US News report

Each year, Newsweek picks the best high schools in the country based on how hard school staffs work to challenge students with advanced-placement college-level courses and tests. Just over 1.600 schools—only 6 percent of all the public schools in the U.S.—made the list.

Newsweek has ranked Walnut 66th in the nation and #1 in Ohio.

Walnut Hills Student Clubs and Organizations

Walnut Hills High School students can take their pick of extracurricular activities that include student government, intramural sports, theater productions, academic clubs, and technology clubs, just to name a few.  Below is a listing of different Clubs and Organizations on Campus.

Club Rules

All extracurricular activities must have a faculty sponsor and be chartered by the Student Congress. The conditions of involvement in the activity must be spelled out in a constitution. Every student should know what his/her opportunities are and what commitment is needed from him/her in order of the activity or organization to function.

How to Join

A student who is interested in a Club, Organization, or Activity offered at Walnut Hills should search out information in the following ways…

  • Listen for announcements made during second bell each day.
  • Read information posted on bulletin boards and also the written announcements posted in the classrooms.
  • Contact the advisor of the specific group.
