Walnut Hills High School is nationally recognized as one of America’s top public schools.  Upon graduation, students are accepted to the finest universities and colleges in America.

 Walnut Hills offers:

  • An advanced, accelerated curriculum for six grade levels.

  •  A rigorous classical program requiring three years of Latin for incoming 7th and 8th graders.

  • An Honors Program and College Board Advanced Placement Program with 28 courses.

  • An outstanding fine arts program with AP art studio and music theory classes.

  • A culturally and ethnically diverse student body with students from every urban neighborhood in Cincinnati, Amberley Village, Cheviot, Golf Manor, Green Township, and Silverton. (44% minority 36% are African-American; 1,853 student population comprised of 55% females and 45% males.)

  • A superbly trained faculty with 100% holding master’s degrees, equivalent or above. There are nine National Board certified teachers and a former National Teacher of the Year.

  • In 2006-2007, 19 National Merit Semi-Finalists, 21 Commended Students, 3 National Achievement and 3 Achievement Commended Scholars.

  • Thirty-eight Cum Laude Initiates in 2006.

  • Administered over 1,300 College Board AP exams, taken by 555 students in 2006, 82% of the scores were three or higher.

  • One hundred percent of the students pass all parts of the Ohio Graduation Test and the majority receive Honors Diplomas from the State.

  • Science and foreign language competitions, National Mathematics Examinations, and Harvard Model United Nations.

  • A minimum of six dramatic and musical productions, six instrumental and two vocal concerts and an award-winning marching band.

  • Over 50 sports teams and 50 extracurricular activities from Art Club to Youth in Government.

  • Students scoring above the national mean on the SAT and ACT  (WHHS SAT mean 1752; National SAT mean 1518. WHHS ACT mean 25.9; National mean 21.1).
